grace

For by grace are ye saved . . .
~Ephesians 2:8

How do I define grace? Off the top of my head, I’d say it’s what God gives us freely and it’s what we will never deserve.

It could be better defined as…

Grace is the freely given, unmerited favor of God towards mankind.
Grace isn’t bought, it’s a free gift of almighty God to a needy humanity.
Grace is the divine favor granted by God, bestowed freely on people, as in granting redemption from sin.
Grace is the spiritual guidance and power given to man in spiritual rebirth and sanctification by God.

In my notes I have the following two statements, but I didn’t note the source.

Grace is the most important concept in the Bible, Christianity, and the world. It’s most clearly expressed in the promises of God revealed in Scripture and embodied in Jesus Christ.
Grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely; the peace of God given to the restless; the unmerited favor of God.
